The Loudoun Youth Initiative (LYI) is a consortium of involved citizens representing Loudoun County's government, business, faith-based, educational, community and youth organizations, who are committed to coordinating and implementing Loudoun County's substantial resources to address challenges identified by Loudoun's youth.

The Loudoun Literacy Council is a community-based, nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to improving literacy throughout Loudoun County. We recruit and train volunteers to teach adults, both native-speakers and speakers of other languages, to read, speak, write, and understand English. For children, we provide early literacy enrichment for at-risk preschool children and children who reside in our local homeless shelters, while supporting their parents as their child's first teacher. Our classes and programs are available to all who reside or work in Loudoun County.
